One Event
This night is an opportunity for our students to take the mic and share the moments – big and small – that have inspired them to become better leaders and make the world a better place.
The One Event is One Stone’s biggest fundraiser of the year. On this night, we ask our supporters to help make it possible for students to gain a 21st century education at no cost to their families. Because our student team members plan and execute the One Event from start to finish, student voice is in the spotlight throughout the evening. It is an inspiring and illuminating event that highlights the students themselves, showing why we’re so passionate about making students better leaders and the world a better place.
Hands Down, Voices Up
Hands Down, Voices Up was an interactive gathering in Boise, Idaho, where students – and a few adults who support and empower them – get the chance to solve real problems with real people. But this summit was much more than an event. It was a movement. Attendees left with a toolkit for change that helps them create good in their own communities, throughout the year.
24 Hour Think Challenge
The first 24-Hour Think Challenge was in many ways the birth of the One Stone lab school, where sophomores and juniors from across the Treasure Valley assembled to reimagine learning for the 21st Century. The 24-Hour Think Challenge empowered students to think critically about an issue or problem, then find solutions. After splitting into teams, students harness the power of design thinking to understand, empathize, define, ideate, prototype and test their ideas. The event concluded with each team pitching their solutions to a crowd of parents, volunteers, community members and influencers. It was a whirlwind 24 hours of empowerment and creativity that showcases the power of student voice.
