A Spring 2019 DLab Case Study
The Food Fair Thought Design Lab team answered a challenge from their community partner: Simplot Company. Can they come up with an innovative fair food? The group’s chosen users are vegans. Prior to this Design Lab, the team had zero knowledge of the vegan community.
After finding that vegan foods are hard to find at the fair, the group dove right into gathering as much information as possible. They found that the only vegan options are french fries, bland salads and smoothies. Their team’s How Might We statement is, “How might we provide fun fair foods for vegan eaters that are tasty, desirable, and appealing?”
The team has created multiple vegan foods to solve this problem. The Food Fair Thought team spent the majority of Design Lab prototyping, testing, and refining their favorite vegan fair food recipes.
