Details:

One Stone’s Living in Beta program (see Wayfinding Level I) has four stages: Exploration, Discovery, Purpose, and Self-Actualization. The Level II Living in Beta Wayfinding Mentorship Program equips educators with the tools they need to effectively mentor students in the later stages of the Living in Beta program, DiscoveryPurpose, and Self-Actualization. As a Level II cohort, we engage in rich reflective discussions, learn by doing, and share stories of transformation as we continue our journey to become inspirational guides in our students’ learning journey. Wayfinding Mentorship Level I certification is a prerequisite for participation in the Level II program.

Participants will be able to . . .

  • Deepen the mentor mindset.

  • Acquire tools to cultivate community connections and engage students in real-world learning experiences.

  • Curate strategies to empower students to identify and actualize their values and purpose.

  • Gain tools to guide students through the Discovery, Purpose, and Self-Actualization stages of the Living in Beta program.

This course is for you if…

  • You are implementing Living in Beta in your organization.

  • You want to inspire authentic, real-world learning and empower your students to discover their purpose and live and learn with intention.

  • You have completed the Level I Living in Beta Wayfinding Mentorship program.

Like the Level I Wayfinding program, this course uses a hybrid program model, blending six asynchronous online-learning modules hosted by Journey.do, a 45-minute virtual orientation, and three 90-minute synchronous group meetings. The complete Wayfinding Mentorship Level II program includes approximately 20 hours of professional growth engagement.

To be certified as a Wayfinding mentor, participants must:

  • Complete all Level I and II online learning modules in Journey.do. Module completion includes connecting with (by commenting on) a minimum of one module story, completing all module reflection “grows”, uploading any/all required learning artifacts, and publishing a module story.

  • Attend all Level I and II synchronous sessions.

  • Complete the Level I and II Wayfinding Mentorship Reflection Form(s).

To aid in implementation of the Living in Beta (LIB) program, Level II certified mentors are awarded access to the digital Living in Beta Playbook and Living in Beta Learning Map. The digital Playbook provides certified mentors with an overview of LIB learning experiences that are mapped to the Exploration, Discovery, Purpose, and Self-Actualization stages, including links to student-facing digital resources. The Living in Beta Learning Map links the core LIB learning experiences to all four LIB stages and to One Stone’s Bold Learning Objectives, CASEL competencies, and Beta Activities. Coming for the 2023-24 school year, certified mentors will also be able to subscribe to student-facing Living in Beta learning modules on Journey.do (see Living in Beta for Middle and High School Students for more information.)
