HIGH SCHOOL TUITION
The FIT (Family Individualized Tuition) program is designed to make the One Stone lab school education possible for all families based on demonstrated financial need and the availability of funds. Multiple financial factors determine each family’s personalized tuition amount. Every family receives a FIT amount based on calculations from a third party that are applied to our model.
-
FIT calculations are broken down into tiers. Each tier represents the range of financial investment each family will make. The tier levels are determined by the adjusted gross income, less taxes paid, as verified by the IRS. That income amount is then applied to an internal calculator broken into tiers, as listed below. The minimum income level for Tier 1 is determined by the federal poverty guidelines and number of members within each family. The maximum Tier 2 income is 300% of the federal poverty level, customized to reflect the number of members within each family.

Tier 1 tuition* - $6,500 per year

*Tier 1 and Tier 2 are eligible for HB93 Tax Credit (see section below for more information) early application January 15, 2026 -
This spring the state passed House Bill 93, Idaho Parental Choice Tax Credit, a new program designed to offset the expenses of private education, which includes the One Stone lab school FIT. The Idaho State Tax Commission is responsible for reviewing all applications. Below are more details and will be updated as we know more. One Stone will host some HB93 application workshops as the January 15, 2026 submission date opens up.
Families can receive a state tax credit of up to $5,000 per child (or $7,500 for children with disabilities) to cover eligible educational expenses starting January 1, 2025.
Qualifying expenses include tuition, fees, books, curriculum, travel, standardized test fees (SAT, ACT, AP), and test prep courses for K-12 students in private schools.
The application window for 2025 expenses will open on January 15, 2026, for a 60-day period. Priority will be given to families with a Modified Adjusted Gross Income (MAGI) under 300% of the federal poverty level, followed by a first-come, first-served basis.
-
Although we do not offer multiple student discounts, tuition for multiple students is a factor in determining a family’s FIT.
-
Individual meetings will be offered to any family who wishes to discuss their FIT. These meetings will occur after the family has completed their financial analysis and received their FIT. If necessary, factors not considered in the financial analysis can be discussed at that time.

One Stone is proud to use the Clarity Application to determine a family’s level of financial need based on the information that families share in the application which includes assets, income, expenses, and debts. Clarity is a confidential third party that will connect with the IRS to download your 2023 filed tax information as well as collect 2024 financial information for independent analysis of each family’s financial situation. Clarity charges a $60 fee per family for this service. The application typically takes less than 30 minutes to complete. The Clarity Application is also mobile-friendly so you can complete it from anywhere. Contracts for existing students will be renewed annually in the spring.
-
One Stone offers flexible payment plans including 1 full payment due in August, 2 semi-annual payments due in August and January, or monthly payments due on the 15th of each month from August through May. Families that choose to utilize the monthly payment option are required to pay via ACH.
As we’re sure you understand, it is critical to One Stone’s operations that tuition amounts are collected. Given that, families who do not pay their tuition within 5 days of the due date will be assessed a late penalty of $50.00. In the event of any payment not received within 30 days of the due date, a late penalty of 1.5% per month will be assessed.
-
A Section 529 plan may be an option for pay for your FIT. Please consult with your tax advisor for more information.
-
Tuition does not completely cover One Stone’s cost of operating the Lab School. Currently, tuition only covers approximately 40% of the costs and our goal is to ultimately reach a point where tuition is paying for at least 60% of that cost.
Additional fundraising, grant writing, sponsorships, and other revenue-generating initiatives are critical to One Stone’s financial sustainability.
