4-5:30pm @ JUMP (Jack’s Urban Meeting Place)

FREE for Kindergarten - 6th graders

WHAT:
Love of Learning is a FREE mentorship program designed to support young students in their educational and social-emotional growth during the unique challenges brought on by COVID-19. To help students safely engage with others while keeping the flame of curiosity alive, elementary students (K-6th) will be paired with a high school student “guide” once a week after school for an hour and a half of in-person, hands-on activity (science experiments, art projects and more), healthy snack, movement time, and personalized learning support.

WHY:
Participants will receive FREE one-on-one mentorship, learning support, and engagement, adults will have a break from being tech support/teacher’s aid/snack maker/parent/employee, and high school students will practice leadership, empathy, and problem solving while serving their community.

WHEN & WHERE:
Love of Learning will take place in-person at JUMP (1000 W Myrtle St) in downtown Boise (outside when weather permits) and is offered from 4-5:30pm weekly on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. Matches will be paired based on high school guide availability on your family’s preferred day of attendance. We ask that once participants begin attending, they do not switch days to keep groups consistent and exposure minimal.

HEALTH & SAFETY:
The One Stone team is committed to providing a safe and healthy experience that follows current guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control, the American Camp Association, Central District Health, and the offices of Governor Little and Mayor McLean. To minimize the risk of illness for our community and families, all participants must follow health and safety protocols including, but not limited to: wearing masks or face coverings in accordance with the Ada County public health order, practice social distancing by remaining 6 feet apart from others, and having their temperature checked upon arrival (temperatures must be below 99.5°F). Hand sanitizer will be readily available and all participants must wash their hands before and after eating. Snacks will be individually pre-portioned or wrapped.

For more information about Love of Learning, please contact Megan Kittridge at projectgood@onestone.org or 208-451-3825.

Please complete the following form to be placed on a waitlist of families. Once your participant is matched with a high school guide on your preferred day, we will send your family a participation agreement and demographic survey (individual responses will be kept confidential). Families will need to have both complete before they are able to participate in this FREE community program. Thank you!

Huge thank you to our sponsors including
