PEEPS ON THE STREET

  • One Stone 1151 West Miller Street Boise, ID, 83702 United States (map)

Thursday, November 9, 2023
11:15 - 12:45
One Stone HQ (1151 W. Miller St.)

Peeps on the Street provides our students with the opportunity to communicate in a professional context and seek ways to improve their projects by listening to others. Family, friends, and community members are encouraged to attend to better understand how our students are using human-centered design to create positive change in our community.

XLab Teams:

XLab teams working with the Idaho Steelheads and Idaho Central Arena will briefly present their top solutions to a real-world problem or opportunity. Through a Q&A session, they seek input, feedback, or recommendations from our Peeps. Anyone who has attended a hockey game or an event downtown would be able to provide valuable feedback. Please RSVP and share this with your people!

DLab Teams:

DLab teams working with a variety of community partners related to economic security including Habitat for Humanity, Global Lounge, Jefferson Middle School, Warm Springs Care Farm, Business Psychology Associates, and the Idaho Conservation Corps will briefly present their research and demonstrate their understanding of complex, real-world problems or opportunities facing these organizations. Anyone who can listen, think critically, and provide constructive feedback is welcome. Peeps with interests supporting or experience working with education, career exploration or planning, teen mental health, housing, landscaping, environmental stewardship, New Americans, cultural festivals, or farmer’s markets would be able to provide valuable feedback. Please RSVP and share this with your people!

YLab Individuals:

Our most experienced design thinkers are embarking on student-driven projects based on their own personal interests and connections. Community issues and topics range from healthcare, physical wellness and fitness, nonprofit management, gender and game development, art and music therapy, filmmaking, fast fashion, sex education, mental health, wildlife biology, the internet of things, and more. YLab students will be sharing their research and understanding of their individual topics. Anyone who can listen, think critically, and provide constructive feedback is encouraged to attend. Please RSVP and share this with your people!
