Details:

One Stone’s Living in Beta is an innovative wayfinding program designed to empower learners to explore their passions and discover their purpose, while equipping them with the tools to live and learn with intention. Through engagement in scaffolded wayfinding activities and close supportive mentorship, students design experiences that bring relevance and meaning, as well as a greater sense of ownership, to their learning. These transformative experiences empower learners to develop a greater sense of identity, belonging, purpose, and direction as they test and iterate upon their passions, explore their personal values, and discover their purpose, or “why.”

Coming in 2023, mentors certified through One Stone’s Wayfinding Mentorship Program will have access by subscription to student-facing online Living in Beta learning modules. Interactive, online learning modules are designed by One Stone and hosted by Journey.do, a web and app-based learning platform developed by Arizona State University. Contact us to learn more.

For high school students who do not have access to Living in Beta in their local learning ecosystem, we offer an open enrollment Living in Beta (LIB) Summer Exploration. LIB Summer Exploration introduces learners to the first stage of  Living in Beta, Exploration, where they work to identify their passions, interests, curiosities, and talents. Through a series of scaffolded wayfinding activities facilitated by a certified Wayfinding mentor,  students reflect on important life moments that have brought them to where they are today. After brainstorming as many passions, interests, and curiosities as they can, their interests and values percolate into a visual map called the Transformation Popper that serves as a compass through their unique and personalized Living in Beta journey. The Exploration stage helps high school learners develop the mindset and tools to put their interests and passions into action and take greater ownership of their learning.

The high school LIB Summer Exploration uses a hybrid program model, blending asynchronous online learning and synchronous virtual group meetings. Online learning modules are hosted by Journey.do, a web and app-based learning platform developed by Arizona State University. While the asynchronous work is completed independently, each online module includes essential opportunities for feedback and collaboration with other Wayfinding mentors. A 45-minute orientation and three 60-minute synchronous virtual sessions are time for collaboration, digging deeper, and learning from each other. The complete LIB Summer Exploration program includes approximately 10 hours of activities and engagement.
